CEO Mark Zuckerberg Introduces Meta, which brings our apps and technologies together with a new company brand. Meta’s focus is on bringing Metaverse to life and connecting people, finding communities, and helping businesses grow.

Metaverse feels like a hybrid of today’s online social experiences, sometimes expanded into three dimensions or assessed into the physical world. It allows you to share immersive experiences with other people even when you are not together – and do things together that you cannot do in the physical world. This is the next development in a long line of social technologies, and it has ushered in a new chapter for our company. Mark shared more about this vision in the Founder’s Letter.

Their annual Connect Conference brings together augmented and virtual reality developers, content creators, marketers, and others to celebrate the industry’s speed and growth. This year’s virtual event explores what kind of experiences can be experienced over the next decade – from social interactions to entertainment, gaming, fitness, work, education, and commerce. We also announced new tools to help people create meta was, including a Presence platform that enables new mixed reality experiences in Quest 2, and invests $ 150 million in training to train the next generation of creators.

Why Facebook changed its name to Meta?

Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg wants to rebrand Facebook to show how the tech company is changing around metaverse, which it sees as a key growth area that can attract even younger customers. Learn about Facebook ads

“The next platform will be more immersive – and embodied internet that you can not just watch but also experience. We call this metaverse and it touches every product we build. Zuckerberg said in a statement:

“The defining quality of metaverse is having a presence – as if you were there with another person or somewhere. Really being with another person is the ultimate dream of social technology. It’s about spending more time on screen; no; it’s about making better the time we already spend.”

The Metaverse

“Right now our brand is so strongly tied to a product that it does not represent everything we do today and will not separate in the future,” the Facebook boss emphasized.

Zuckerberg said: “I am proud to report that our company is now a meta, reflecting who we are and the future we want to build.”

The new name was announced as Mark Zuckerberg unveiled plans to create ” The Metaverse” – people can often play, work and communicate in virtual environments using VR headsets.

Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, the company unveiled the new logo on Thursday, replacing the “Like” logo printed with its thumb in the shape of the Blue Infinity.

“We now look at and report our business into two separate segments, one for our family apps and the other for our work on future platforms.

“And as part of this, it’s time to embrace the new company brand that has everything we do, who we are, and what we hope to create.”

Zuckerberg says the new name comes from the Greek word “beyond”, which means there is always more to build. Over time, he said, the new name reflects that the company no longer requires users to use Facebook to access other services.

However, the metaverse is much bigger than gaming. It’s for fun, yes — but also for work, for socialization, for education, for fitness, and more. Building Metaverse means creating a VR as a simple computing platform like your phone or laptop today.

They are making progress in that direction. Today in Friend Connect 2021, we have expanded our focus on metaverse — but more importantly, the steps we have taken to transform VR into a more efficient and versatile platform.

Our next step VR releases are packed with more social home space, a new platform for your favorite internet apps, a quest for business for those who do virtual work (accessed through new work accounts), and fitness-for-all-focused tools. You beat Saber Expert + players, new devices so that developers can create amazing mixed-virtual experiences, and more.
