What is guest posting?
First things first: let’s define our terms. “Guest posting” means writing and publishing articles on someone else’s website or blog.
I feature this (sometimes) on my site and on other blogs with the audience I want to talk to. This is a great way to connect with new readers and get your name out.
But for a long time, I ignored this important discipline to grow a popular blog. I did not want to. And I hope you don’t.
There are three reasons why guest posting can be such an important strategy for every blogger to make an impact online:
Increases guest posting relationships
Bloggers need good content. By being a good guest blogger and adding value to someone else’s blog, you’re going to build relationships with other bloggers.
Bloggers make up the majority of conversations on the Internet, especially on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. They can be tremendously influential. Through this, they become good friends.
By befriending other bloggers through guest posting, you are going to increase your influence in the social media field, which will eventually lead to more blog subscribers.
Guest posting is great for search engines
For guest-posting you must not discuss:
The host blogger must include a link to your blog (usually at the beginning or end) anywhere in the post.
Over time, these backlinks will increase the value of your blog to search engines, making it easier to find your content through Google, Yahoo, Bing, and more.
Guest posting introduces you to new people
Perhaps, the best part about guest posting is that it allows you to enter an already established community and share your message. It allows you to connect with new people, and you will ultimately benefit if you do it the right way.
If you add value to a discussion, you will see it translate into more readers, fans, and followers over time. Conversely, if you only ask or sell, you may become famous, but with a reputation, you do not want to. (You should not be the “person” who drives his own agenda.)
Add value. Help people. Be patient. And over time, you will win.
What about the people who post as guests on your site?
I’m also a fan of allowing other people to make guest posts on my site from time to time. You should also consider providing guest posting on your blog (if you have not already).
If you are looking for opportunities to guest post on other people’s blogs, this is understandable. This allows you to interact with the host blogger you are developing.
Some bloggers also blog about their guest posts and link to their blog (giving you some great link juice). Personally, I am a fan of this practice.
The first rule is to be a good guest
When I post as a guest for someone else, I do the following:
- Link to post from my blog
- Promote it on Twitter (many times)
- Thanks in person
- Stay around and reply to comments on posts
Although not everyone does, it’s not a bad idea. However, this is important: if you have to choose between allowing people guest posts on your site or guest posting elsewhere, do the latter. It’s always a good idea to include your name in new communities.
Guest posting topics
According to my friend Mike the search engine guru, when it comes to SEO, posting a guest on other sites is five times more valuable than creating new content on your own site. (As long as you get the backlink.)
I don’t care if this is true. (However, Mike is not the perfect guy, so maybe he is.) The thing is, this is a fantastic strategy to increase your reach and increase your reputation online.
Also, if you are an author looking to find more “traditional” publishing opportunities, this is a great first step to showcasing your work on news sites, magazines, and other publications.
If you are not satisfied with your blog traffic but do not post on other people’s blogs, you do not need to complain much. Start guest posting today and see your impact grow.
Why is guest posting important for SEO?
A really good SEO service uses a variety of methods to improve website positioning in search engines. From using long-tail keywords to link building, they are always a trick to improving search engine rankings.
Guest Posting is a topic that many inexperienced SEOs often overlook. The reason for this is;
- Guest posting is difficult
- Guest posting takes time
- The best sites accept only really high-quality content and most content creators cannot provide quality content
- Guest posting is one of the best ways to increase traffic to your website. When you are a guest on a blog, you write content for other official websites but ultimately get benefits for your website. Learn about canonical tags.
Backlinks to guest blog posts increase the visibility of your website. It makes guest blogging one of the most important content marketing tools for your business. More people learn about your brand through guest blogging than writing a blog for your website.
Guest posting has become an important part of many businesses’ content marketing strategies. The success of guest blogging for SEO ultimately depends on how relevant, genuine and helpful the content you provide to readers is.
As long as you are producing high-quality guest posts, your website will be more likely to rank high. If other blogs link back to your guest blog, Google will find your guest post interesting and relevant. Similarly, if people like, share or comment on your post, it will also help you improve your search engine ranking.
